Position Title
Director of Wickson Welcome Wagon (Deceased)

Wickson 2nd Floor South East Hall
Bio

Doug the Dog joined the Department of Environmental Science & Policy family in 2014, and shortly after established his post in Wickson's Southeast Hall. Doug's background was eclectic, including much outdoor fieldwork, in particular in the Stebbins Cold Canyon Reserve.

Doug's current work often related to Energy Policy efforts, and he was a strong advocate for energy conservation efforts such as laying out on his pillow.

Doug was recognized for his work and promoted to Director of the Wickson Welcome Wagon in 2015.

Doug the Dog passed away on February 16, 2025, after a decade of fooling ESP majors into thinking he was an emotional support dog there for them. He donated blood for surgical purposes at the vet school for many years and spent more than five years in a vet school clinical trial for a cancer vaccine. He is survived by the two kittens he raised; his animal siblings, Weston the Dog, Belle the Cat, and Jack the Insane Chibull; his two parents; and his three human siblings.
