Plant Conservation Biology

Lecture/discussion—3 hours; discussion—1 hour; term paper. Prerequisite: Environmental Science and Policy 100 or equivalent upper division general ecology. Principles governing the conservation of plant species and plant communities, including the roles of fire, exotic species, grazing, pollination, soils, and population genetics; analytic and practical techniques for plant conservation; and introduction to relevant legal, ethical, and policy issues. Limited enrollment.
