Lead co-authors Eliza Oldach and Helen Killeen study protected whale species in the California Current ecosystem (CCE) to meet laudable but difficult zero mortality goal. Both Ph.D candidates at UC Davis with the Department of Environmental Science and Policy and the Coastal and Marine Sciences Institute co-led a paper looking at strengthening policies to prevent whale deaths.
