Alan Hastings received one of twenty-nine National Science Foundation (NSF) Awards in support of Understanding the Rules of Life. Funded through NSF's program for Research Advanced by Interdisciplinary Science and Engineering (RAISE), Alan's award is for "Integrating Statistical Physics and Nonlinear Dynamics to Understand Emergent Synchrony and Phase Transitions in Biological Systems." He receives just under $1 million in funding.
